James McDowell Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: TO ALL WHOM these Presents shall come, GREETING: KNOW YE, That in conformity with a Survey, made on the tenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 13,046 there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto John S. Mowery and William Supinger a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing forty nine acres, lying and being in Shenandoah County on the North West side of the Little North mountain and bounded as follws, Viz: Beginning at a White Oak White Oak sapling and some maple ---(?) in a line of the land belonging to the heirs of William Allison dec'd., where it is supossed Conrad myley's line intersects with the Allison line, running thence with a lin of Blazed Trees supposed to be said Myley's line S. 36' E. 115 poles to a stone heap by a marked hickory, a white Oak & a Small Chesnut sprout on the North side of a Stony ridge in said Myley's line. Thence leaving said line N. 39 1/2' E. 180 poles to two White Oaks at the foot of a ridge. Thence N. 30' W. 45 poles to a stone heap in Allison's line, between a large White Oak and a Small pine in a flat near a drain, Thence with said Allison's line W. 39 1/2 ' N. 180 poles to the beginning with its appurtinances. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said John S. Mowery and William Supinger and their heirs forever. In Witness Whereof, the said James McDowell Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hat hereunto set his Hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four and of the Commonwealth the Seventieth. |
