LAND GRANT TO JOHN ORNDORFF

John Rutherford Esquire, Lieutenant Governor acting as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

TO ALL TO WHOM these Presents shall come, GREETING:

KNOW YE, That in conformity with a Survey, made on the thirtieth day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty three, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 73,044 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto John Orndorff A certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing fourteen and a quarter acres, lying and being in Shenandoah County, on the West side of Cedar Creek and on the drains thereof and Bounded as follows, viz:

Beginning at a large chesnut Oak a corner to Lorenzo Washington Seibert's land, formerly John Hamilton's, it also being on a line of a late Survey made for said Sibert; thence running with his line N. 38 3/4° E. 68 7/10 Poles to a stone heap, said Sibert's Corner in Samuel Beams line' thece with said Beams line S. 20° E. 38 4/10 poles to large White Oak, his corner, thence with another of his lines S. 66 1/4° E. 36 7/10 poles to to Chesnut Oaks on the point of a ridge, said Beam's Corner, also a Corner to sd. Sibert's, thence with Siberts lines reversed S. 64 1/2° W. 27 poles to a fallen pine & two chesnut Oaks on the West side of a hill; thence No. 82° W. 64 Poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said John Orndorff and his heirs forever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said John Rutherford Esq: Lieut. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the Tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four and of the Commonwealth the sixty ninth.
