GRANT TO JOSEPH MILLER

Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to whom these Presents shall come Greeting.

Know ye, that by virtue of a warrent issued from the (illegible) Proprietors Office of the Northern Neck and in Consideration of the Ancient Composition of ten shillings sterling paid by Joseph Miller into the Treasury of the Commonwealth there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said Joseph Miller assignee of Jacob Moore a certain tract or Parcel of land Containing one hundred Acres by Survey bearing Date the Twenty first day of April one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy four lying and being in the County of Dunmore and bounded as followeth --

Beginning at two white oaks corner to John Penniwitz late Survey in a line of Ulrich Miers and extending thence with Miers line South Seventy three Degrees East one hundred and eighty Poles to a Pine corner to Jackson Allen thence with Allens line South Sixty three and a half Degrees West two hundred and twenty two poles to three Pines corner to said Allen and a line of John Penniwitz former Survey thence with that line North forty degrees West fourteen Poles to a Pine and a white oak by a Drain corner to said Penniwitz thence West sixteen Poles to a Pine on a hill corner to Penniwitz Late Survey thence with said Penniwitz line North twenty Degrees East one hundred and fifty poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances.

To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of land With its appurtenances to the said Joseph Miller and his heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said Edmund Randolph Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and Caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twentieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty eight And of the Commonwealth the Twelfth.
