John Page Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia To all to whom these presents shall come greeting: Know Ye That in conformity to a re-Survey bearing date the twentieth day of May Eighteen hundred and three, made pursuant to an order of the Worshipful court of Shenandoah County there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Henry Hottle a Certain tract or parcel of land containing Two hundred and forty acres, two hundred and twenty five acres a part thereof was formerly granted to John Fry by the proprietor of the northern neck, by patent bearing the date the Second day of October seventeen hundred & seventy seven and by said Fry the said land was conveyed to Henry Hottel by deed bearing date the Eleventh of September Eighteen hundred and two and fifteen acres the residue (being surplus conatined in the bounds of the original grant) is taken by virtue of a land office Treasury warrant number Three thousand two hundred and eighty nine issued the fourteenth of December Eighteen hundred and one, lying and being in the county of Shanandoah, on a branch of Stoney creek and bounded as followeth to wit Beginning at three pines formerly corner to Charles Byrnes and William Barr's lands, now Jacob Rinkers and George Rinkers lands and is the beginning mentioned in the original grant to said Fry, thence along George Rinkers line of marked trees south eighty seven degrees West one hundred and eighty three poles to two pines an old corner in Joseph Rymans line, with his line south five degrees East one hundred and eighty poles to two pines corner to said Rymans in Christopher Lindamudes line, with the same south eighty eight degrees East fory six poles to two pines his corner in John Painter Junr. line (formerly George Rineharts) with his line north forty one degrees East six poles to two pines said Painters corner, then with another of his lines south sixty three degrees East one hundred and twenty poles to one pine in the said line corner to Jacob Imsweeler (formerly Philp Darlingers) then south his line north thirty four degrees East fourteen poles to two white oaks corner to the said Jacob Rinker and then with his line north four degrees West two hundred and Seventy poles to the beginning with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Henry Hottle and his heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said John Page esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand and cause the Lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the seventh day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four and of the Commonwealth the Twenty ninth. |
