John B. Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To all to whom these Presents shall come - GREETING:

KNOW YE That in conformity with a survey made on the twenty first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty eight, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 16,215 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto George Miller a certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing One hundred and ninety acres, lying and being in the County of Shenandoah, on Little Stony creek, near the head of said creek, & bounded as follows, Viz:

Beginning at a stone heap on the side of Mill creek mountain near a marked pine, a corner to a late survey made for Joseph Miller, and running thence with a line thereof S. 48 3/4° 97 1/2 poles to two red oaks standing two and a half poles on the West side of Little Stony creek; Thence running up the said creek the several courses and meanders thereof and binding thereon N. 9° E. 10 poles, N. 19 1/2 ° E. 16 poles, N. 26 1/2° E. 114 poles crossing the said creek twice, to a chesnut oak and a chesnut on the West side of said creek; Thence N. 14 1/2° E. 125 poles to a poplar, Thence N. 49 1/2° E. 35 poles to two spruce pines and a cucumber tree standing on the West bank of said Creek; Thence leaving the creek N. 75° W. 136 poles to a Stone heap on the side of a mountain; thence running along the side of said mountain S. 13° W. 307 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said George Miller and his heirs forever.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said John B. Floyd Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine and of the Commonwealth the seventy third.
