Ephraim Mowery, James McDowell To all whom these Presents shall come, GREETING: Know Ye, That in conformity with a Survey, made on the eleventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty four, by virtue of Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 12,908. there is granted by the said Commonwealth, unto John and Ephraim Mowery A certain Tract or Parcel of land, containing sixty two and a half acres, lying and being in Shenandoah County on the South East side of the Little North mountain & along the top of the same and bounded as follows. Viz: Beginning at three hickories on the East side of said mountain, a corner to Frederick R. Mowery & John Hockman's line, running thence with said Hockman's line up the mountain & 116. W. 510 (?) poles to a pine and three small black oaks on the top of said mountain in Isaac Beam and John Copenhaver's line thence with their lines running along the top of said mountain. The general course thereof N. (?) E. 37 poles to a Black Oak, a chesnut Oak and pine on the top of said mountain a corner to Isaac Beam & John Copenhaver in a line of John Richards land Thence with his line and passing his corner a continued course with Frederick R. Mowery's line. (?) poles to the beginning with its appointed marker. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said Tract or Parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said John and Ephraim Mowery and his heirs forever. In witness whereof, the said James McDowell Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his Hand, and caused the Lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five and of the Commonwealth the Seventieth. |
