John Floyd, Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know Ye, that in conformity with a survey, made on the twenty first day of October 1830; by virtue of a Land office Treasury warrant No. 7858, issued February 9th 1825, there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto David Barb a certain Tract or parcel of Land, containing fifteen acres three rods and thirty three poles, situate in Shenandoah County, on the drains of Stoney creek and near the head of said creek and bounded as followeth, to wit: Beginning between three white oaks a corner to Henry Tusing's land and also a corner to said Barb's other land extending thence with said Tusing's lines S 35 degrees E. 15 7/10 poles to a white oak and spanish oak standing on the north bank of a branch his corner, thence N. 62 degrees E. 118 poles to a pine and two red oak saplings in Adam Barb's line, then with his line N. 72 degrees W. 44 poles to a stone heap by two pine grubs, on the west side of a hill in a line of said David Barb's other land and then with a line thereof S. 52 1/2 degrees W. 90 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said tract of parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to said David Barb and his heirs forever.In witness whereof the said John Floyd, Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed, at Richmond, on the eleventh day November in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one and of the Commonwealth the fifty sixth. |
