Robert Brooke Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting Know ye that by virtue of a land office treasury Warrant Number eight thousand seven hundred and forty issued the ninth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighty one there is granted by the said commonwealth unto Christian Stover Senior Assignee of Jaccob Marks a certain tract or parcel of Land containing Two hundred Acres by survey bareing (sic) date the eighteenth day of November one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety four Lying and being in the County of Shenandoah near Cabben River and is bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a white oak and pine Standing near the foot of the fort Mountain and extending thence South Seventy degrees east Ninety one poles to two white oaks corner to the Lands which formerly did belong to Andrew Copeman now belonging to Thomas Allen with his line the same course Continues one hundred and forty six poles to two white oaks on the side a Ridge corner to the said Allena nd Michael Clipples line South fifty seven degrees west one hundred and sixty four poles and passing by his corner to two white oaks and a Locust standing on the North side of and about five miles from a branch North seventy degrees West one hundred and sixty one poles to two pines standing on the side of the said Mountain and then the same course continues forty poles farther to Sundry (?) trees on the side of the said Mountain then North Twenty degrees east one hundred and thirty poles and thence South seventy degrees East sixty five poles to the Beginning with its appurtenances To have and to hold the said Christian Stover and his heirs for ever In witness whereof the said Robert Brooke Esquire Governor of the commonwealth of Virginia hath hereunto set his hand an caused the lesser Seal fo the said commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the Nineteenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety five and of the commonwealth the Twentieth |
