Wilson Cary Nicholas Esqr. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia: To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know Ye That in Conformity with a survey made the 4th day of May 1815; by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 5058, issued the 2nd day of April 1813 There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Casper Miller, A certain Tract or parcel of Land containing Two acres and a quarter, situate (sic) in the County of Shenandoah, on the North side of the South river of Shenandoah, and bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at a poplar on a steep hill side corner to Casper Miller's former Tract of Land in Joseph Louderback's line, thence with his line (reversing the course) S 26 degrees W 30 poles to near a Mulberry tree Standing by the edge of a road, about half a pole, on the North west side of a small cedar, thence S. 44 degrees E 21 poles to said river Ban at Low water mark, at a cornered sycamore, thence down the river the several courses it Meanders thereof North fifty six degrees, East twelve poles, thence North eighty two degrees East ten poles to the mouth of a run; thence South sixty eight degrees Et. twenty three poles to a high rock abutting the river, corner to said Casper Millers former Tract of Land and thence with his former line (reversing the course) North forty degrees, West thirty two poels to the beginning: To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said Casper Miller, and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said Wilson C. Nicholas Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the twentieth Day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixteen and of the Commonwealth the forty first.
