GRANT TO ABRAHAM BARB

William B. Giles, Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To All To Whom these presents shall come Greeting:

Know Ye, That in conformity with a survey made on the twenty-first day of August 1827, by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant No. 5641 issued - March 19th 1816, there is granted by the said commonwealth Unto Abraham Barb a certain tract or parcel of land containing Twenty seven acres situate in the county of Shenandoah on the north west side of Stony creek, and bounded as followeth, to wit:

Beginning at two pines where there formerly stood, on a hill, corner to the land the said Abraham Barb lately purchased of John Spitlar and to the land of Joshua Foltz and extending from thence with a line of said Spitlar's Tract - John Hottle's and Peter Craig's land N. 18° W. 332 poles to an oak and a caning gum near John Line's blacksmith shop being a corner to the Land the said Line and of Peter Craig, thence up a road and a branch with said Line's line S. 81 1/2° W. 14.7 poles to a dead white oak, a corner to the land of Joshua Foltz at the corner of a Coal-House; thence with said Foltz's lines S. 5 3/4° W. 264 poles to three chesnut oaks, on a hill side; and thence S. 29 3/4° E. 68 poles to the beginning. To Have and to Hold the said Tract or Parcel of land, with its appurtenances, to the said Abraham Barb, and his heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said William B. Giles, Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond on the tenth day of November in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight and of the Commonwealth the fifty third.
