Wilson Cary Nicholas Esqr. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia:

To all to whom these presents shall come; Greeting

Know ye, That in Conformity with a survey made the 9th Day of March 1815, by virtue of a Land Office Treasury Warrant, No. 5140, issued the 7th Day of December, 1813; There is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Adam Barb junior, A certain Tract or parcel of land, containing One hundred and Thirty one acres, situate in the County of Shenandoah, on Stony Creek, and bounded as followeth to wit:

Beginning at two white oaks, about twenty poles from Stony Creek, corner to David Barb and said Adam Barb Junior and also corner to the Land survey for Michael Crouse, thence with said Crouse's line south seventy degrees, East thirty nine poles to two white oaks, corner to said Crouse's survey in John Sheetz's line, thence leaving it North thirty five degrees, East sixty poles to three pines on the side of a ridge, thence North fifty five degrees, West seventy two poles to two pines thence North fifteen degrees, west sixty six poles to two white oaks in a hollow, thence North sixty two degrees West one hundred and twenty one poles to three chesnut oaks in the South bank of a branch, thence South fifty two degrees thirty minutes, west ninety six poles crossing Stony Creek to where two hickories and a locust formerly stood, and a corner to said David and Adam Barb junior's land and thence with their line reversing the course, South fifty five degrees, East (crossing Stony Creek again) two hundred and eighteen poles to the beginning;

To have and to hold the said Tract or parcel of Land, with its appurtenances to the said Adam Barb, Junior and his heirs forever.

In witness whereof the said Wilson C. Nicholas Esqr. Governor of the said Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand and caused the lesser Seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the twentieth day of September in the year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixteen and of the Commonwealth the forty first.
