Walter Jenkins, Jr.

Walter Jenkins, Jr., age 75, of 2004 Clary Road, Strasburg passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell M. Schurtz, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg.

Mr. Jenkins was born December 7, 1935 in Shenandoah County, a son of the late Walter "Mart" and Reba Ardesta Rhodes Jenkins, Sr.

He was retired from Shenandoah County Public Schools and attended the First Assembly of God Church, Strasburg.

Surviving are his wife, Lovata Sherman Jenkins; three sons, Kevin Eugene Jenkins, Sr., Dana Lynn Jenkins, and Brian Keith Jenkins, all of Strasburg; a son, Terry Walter Jenkins is deceased; three sisters, Shirley Tolbert, June Fay Plaugher and Darlene Lohr, all of Strasburg; a brother, Doug Jenkins of Strasburg; a brother, Larry Jenkins, Sr. is deceased; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Rudolph, Dennis Stickley, Glenn Proctor, Willie Keeler, Stan Strother, and Brian Drummond.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Kerns, Billy Conner, Timmy Middleton, Dean Elbon, Charlie Barrack, and Denny Drummond.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and anytime at the Jenkins home. The family will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
