Helen Louise Lichliter Hockman Helen Louise Hockman, age 79, of Strasburg, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family. Graveside rites will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg, with Rev. Wendell M. Schurtz, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Hockman was born August 7, 1932 in Woodstock, a daughter of the late Maynard and Emma Elbon Lichliter. She was the wife of the late William Boyd Hockman, was a member of the Strasburg Women of the Moose, Chapter No. 1319, Oranda Homemakers and enjoyed playing bingo. She had been employed by Strasburg Aileen, Inc. and Strasburg Manufacturing. Surviving are her son, Boyd A. Hockman of Strasburg; her daughter, Candie M. Palmer and fiance Doug Rinard of Strasburg; a grandson, Dana Palmer and wife Debbie of Strasburg; two great-grandsons, Kane and Cullen Palmer; two sisters, Faye L. Boyer and husband Edward of Strasburg and Sue Drummond of Strasburg. She was predeceased by a brother, Marvin Lichliter; and a brother-in-law, Donald W. Drummond. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday Street, Strasburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. on Friday.
