Death of Mr. William Walker Kingan.

Early on last Friday morning, May 17th, {1901} Mr. Wm. Walker Kingan departed this life at his home in this town after nearly a month's illness of typhoid fever in his 47th year. The death of his wife little over a year ago devolved on him the care of their three daughters, a duty which he discharged with loving fidelity and devotion. Now that the father has been likewise removed, the heart of the community has again been touched and genuine sympathy extended the orphaned children. In the deceased his wife found a faithful husband, the children a devoted father, the town a useful citizen, and the community an expert and industrious workman whose example in the different relations of life should quicken emulation. His funeral took place from Emmanuel Lutheran church at ten o' clock on last Saturday morning in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing kindred and friends.

The Stonewall Fire Company of which the deceased was a most popular member attended the funeral in a body as a tribute of respect to his worth and usefulness. Their floral offerings were also beautiful and lavish, as well as those the Salyards Literary Circle and the students of the New Market High School touchingly tendered. The pall-bearers were his fellow workmen: Messrs. John D. Crim, John W. Grove, Robt. O'Roark, Wm. McDaniel, Chas. Clinedinst, and Chas. Rhodes.
