Death of Mrs. A.C. Neff.

Mrs. Louisa Neff (nee Myers), wife of Elder A. C. Neff, departed this life at their home near Quicksburg, Va., at 11.15 o' clock on last Wednesday morning, December 11, 1901; aged 55 years and 2 days. Her death was caused by diabetes. She had been somewhat complaining for the past several weeks, and on last Friday was taken to bed and gradually grew worse until Monday night when she became more or less comatose with lucid intervals until death.

Those of her children living at a distance were notified by telegraph of her condition on last Monday. her daughter Mrs. W. E. Brackett, accompanied by her husband, of Battle Creek, Michigan, who were at Toledo, Ohio, at the time of receipt of telegram, arrived Tuesday; her son Prof. John P. Neff, president of Lafayette College, of Lafayette, Alabama arrived on Wednesday a few hours after her death. It will be recalled that her son Mr. Elmer Neff and bride, of Kansas, arrived home several weeks ago.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Myers, of Forestville, Va., who died respectively April 14, 1901, and Feb. 9, 1901 - the latter preceding the former in death two months. She was married to Mr. A. C. Neff on Jan. 19, 1865, and seven children----four sons and three daughters----all surviving-----were born to them. She is also survived by one brother Mr. P. M. Myers, New Bloomfield, Mo.; and two sisters Mrs. I. M. Neff, Forestville, Va., and Mrs. J. Wm. Miller, Seward, Kansas. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in which denomination her husband is also an ordained minister. In all the relations of life the deceased was a most excellent lady---a loving wife, indulgent mother, and kind neighbor.

The funeral will take place tomorrow morning (meeting at her late residence at 10.30 o' clock) from Cedar Grove church, Elder R. D. Hottel officiating.

Her four sons and two sons-in-law will be the pallbearers in conformity with her desire.
