Death of Mrs. Daniel Zigler. We regret to announce that Mrs. Hannah Rebecca Zigler, nee Young, wife of Daniel Zigler, departed this life on Monday afternoon, March 7, 1898, at their home at Timberville, Va.; aged 61 years, 2 months, and 20 days. Pneumonia caused her death after an illness of about two weeks. Mrs. Zigler was a consistent member of the Tunker church for about 39 years, and lived happily in the married relation for 36 years. Her husband and two sons, Messrs. John A. and D. F. Zigler (unmarried), survive. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning from the Tunker church at Timberville with internment in cemetery, Elder B. W. Neff officiating amidst an unusually large congregation, perhaps as many as 1000 people being present. Mrs. Z. is the last of her family, her parents, two brothers, and two sisters being dead----the last one, a sister, Mrs. Susanna Showalter, having died near Good's Mill, last summer. Mrs. Zigler was a good woman, and most charitably disposed, and no one was ever turned away empty handed. She contributed for many years to a widow near by, and her request before death was that the same charity be continued. |
