C. H. Reid, 81, Dies In Penna.

BROADWAY, March 31 (1940)  --  News of the death of C.  H. Reid, 81,  was received by relatives here today.  Mr. Reid died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Annie Mason, in  Middletown,  Penna.,  following  an  illness  of  several weeks. Death was due to complications and infirmities of age.

A  former  resident  and  widely  known  dairyman  in  the Broadway section,  Mr. Reid was born in Hume, Va.,  and lived  there  during  his  boyhood.   After  moving  to  this section   and  following  the  dairy  business,  he  went  to Pennsylvania  in  1919,  and  followed  the  same  business until several years ago,  when he retired.    He had enjoyed good health until his last illness several weeks ago.

Surviving are the following daughters:   Mrs.  Annie Mason of  Middletown,  Penna.,  Mrs.  Nina  Shantz of Baltimore, Mrs. B. W. Showalter of Broadway, and a son, Noah Reid, of Moores Store. There are 22 grandchildren surviving and 14 great grandchildren.

The body will arrive at the home of Mrs.  B.  W. Showalter Monday afternoon.

Funeral  services  will  be  held  Tuesday  afternoon at two o 'clock  from  the  County  Line  Reformed  Church,  with friends meeting at the Showalter home at one o 'clock that afternoon.    The Rev.  P. W. Fisher of the United Brethren Church  of  which  Mr.   Reid  had  been  a  member  since boyhood, will officiate. Burial will be in the cemetery near the church.

Pallbearers will be Charles Orebaugh, Daniel Smith, Wade Wean,   Richard  Miller,   David  Campbell  and  Benjamin Golliday.
