I am seeking information about a coal mine in the Swords Creek area that was owned by Charles G. MONK around 1944-45. Among the men that worked there were my Dad (Clyde PATRICK) and Jake (Jacob?) PRUNER. Any information about the mine or other men that worked in it would be appreciated.

I am seeking any information about a coal mine owned by Ed WISE and Aught Thompson around 1928-1930. It was located on Miller Cree, not far from the Sword's Creek area. I'm seeking information on a VANDERPOOL family that lived in Russell Co. VA in 1825. Jacob VANDERPOOL stated in his Mexican War discharge that he was born in Lebanon VA and his brother (or cousin) Isaac VANDERPOOL stated that he was born in Russell Co. VA. However they were both living in KY when they joined. The courthouse burned in Lebanon and the library has nothing. I managed to get copies of deeds where Robert & Catherine Hartsock VANDERPOOL transferred real estate to their children (Jacob and Isaac are not among them), and recently I found Hezekiah VANDERPOOL in the early 1800s in Russell Co. A younger Hezekiah appears in the 1850 census in Scott Co., but he was too young to Jacob's father-- maybe an older brother. My problem is that my grandmother stated before she died in 1950 that her grandfather's name was Wilburn or Welborne VANDERPOOL and his wife's maiden name was Sarah BROWN. My grandmother was 80 at the time, but very lucid. Jacob is shown at 25 in Owsley Co. KY in the 1850 census, and a Mary VANDERPOOL, who was a couple of years younger than Jacob, was living with a widow named Mary BROWN and her children in Logan Co. KY on the same census. Jacob went on to TX and married Susan Carolyn Tittle. I know that the VANDERPOOLS came to the Minisink area of New York in the very early 1600s, and I think our VA/KY line were probably descended from Abraham VANDERPOOL who went on to NC instead of KY. But I'm stuck in Russell Co.

He enlisted in the Rev War at Annapolis, MD and married Frances? around 1784. They were in Russell Co by 1820. Children: David, Polly, Clara & Nancy. There were other children as well. Seeking info on Parker Lucas and Elizabeth Sexton. Parker was born ca.1788 in VA. He's on the 1820 & 1830 Russell Co. census reports. Also looking for any court records pertaining to either/or both people. They were arrested ca. 1820 in Russell Co. for public fornication and later aquited. Parker was also arrested for the theft of one pig ca. 1820-1840 and fined $100.00 which he couldn't pay. Also need proof of marriage between Parker and Elizabeth. Thanks,
