In the name of God, Amen.
I Wilson Vermillion of Russell County and State of Virginia, being of sound mind & memory do make this my last will and testament as follows, to wit:
After all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, aI give to my son Isaac Vermillion & my daughter Rebecca Ferguson one negro boy Charles, and a certain tract or parcell of land lying and being in the County of Russell on the north side of the river mountain the line to be on the top of the said mountain to divide as they may think proper.
I give to my son Elihu Vermillion the tract of land on which I now live with its meets and bounds lying on the south side of the river mountain also my waggon & cooking stove and all the present crops on said farm.
I give to my grandaughter Sarah Ferguson one negro boy Crockett, a horse saddle & bridle two beds bedsteads & furniture, one large bible; My personal property of every description besides (with the exception of one bedstaed & furniture & twenty dollars which I give to Elihue Vermillion's wife, Eliza) with all moneys bonds etc. shall be equally divided between my three children Rebecca Ferguson, Isaac Vermillion & Elihue Vermillion except my rifle gun. I give that to Elihue's son John E. Vermillion all of the county and state aforesaid, Isaac Vermillion & Wilson Elliot Adm'rs. My silver spoons I reserve for myself while I live. Given under my hand and seal the 15th day of Nov'r. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty seven.

At a court held for Russell County at the courthouse thereof on the 8th day of Dec'r. 1857.
The last will and testament of Wilson Vermillion dec'd was produced in court and proved by ythe oath of Samuel Robinson and Wilson Elliott the two subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - And Isaac Vermillion & Wilson Elliott the executors therein named appeared in court and refused the executorship - And on the motion of Isaac Vermillion who took the oath of an administrator with the will annexed prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged his bond in the sum of $5000.00 with Samuel Robinson, Ira Reynolds and Wilson Elliott as his securities conditioned as the law directs, a certificate is therefore granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of the said Wilson Vermillion dec'd with the will annexed in due form.
