Executed 07 May 1867

I William Lambert of the County of Russell & State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory but very low in health do make and publish my last will and testament as follows. First. I desire that my executor hereinafter named shall sell my tract of Land on a reasonable credit reserving in the sale the present growing crop, and the crop that may be planted this spring for the use of any family, and also reserving the possession of my place till the first of January next for the same use. and out of the proceeds of the sale of my Land I desire that he shall pay all my just debts and funeral expenses, and residue of the money arising from the sale, I desire shall be for the use of my wife and my Daughter Eliza. that is shall be a fund for their support as long as they live. And if they choose it may be laid out in Land for them a home, otherwise if they choose it may be Loaned out, and they may use the interest, and such portions of the principle as may from time to time be necessary for their support Second I give to my life during her life all my personal property of every kind, but to be used by her for her own support and the support of my Daughter Eliza, and for the raising of my children if any thing of mine is lef at the decease of my wife and my daughter Eliza wither from the Land or personal property, then I desire it shall be eaqually divided amongst all my children

Lastly, I hereby constitute and appoint my friend Joseph S. Litton executor of this my last Will and Testament, Given under my hand and seal, this 23rd day of April 1867.

At a court held for Russell County at the Court House on the 7th day of May 1867.
The last Will and Testament of Wm. Lambert was this day produced in court and proved by the oath of David Ring and Wm. B. Aston two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on motion of Joseph S. Litton the executor therein named who took the oaths of an Executor prescribed by law, and entered into and acknowledged his bond in the sum of sixteen hundred dollars together with David Ring and Wm. B. Aston his securities thereto conditioned as the law directs, a certificate is therefore granted him for obtaining probate of said Will in due form. The estimated value of said Estate was proved by the oath of Joseph S. Litton to be $800.
