The last will and testament of William Jackson. I William Jackson do now make my last will and testament in manner and form as follows, to wit, that is to say to my wife Adline Jackson I will and bequeath all of my real & personal estate except one horse worth seventy - five dollars, - bequeath to Jehial Jackson also one saddle to the said Jehial. The said Adline Jackson is to have and to hold the above bequests during her natural life or widowhood after all my just debts are pade after my deceas. If it is thought best by my executors and my widow to sell the land to pay the purchase money they shall have the power to do so & after the death of my widow it is my will that William Kneely Jackson & Logan W., Mary & Richard Jackson have seventy five dollars to make them equal to the other children and the over plus to be equally divided between all of my children & if the said widow should marry then the above estate if any shall be divided equally between my children, and furthermore I do appoint Elijah Ferrell & Joseph Boyd my executors of this my will & testament this 2nd day of June 1856 as witness my hand & seal in presence of

At a court held for Russell County at the courthouse on the 8th day of July 1856 - The last will and testament of William Jackson dec'd was produced in court and proved by the oaths of Increase S. Judd and Jacob Cook two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - And on the motion of Elijah Ferrell and Joseph Boyd the executors therein named who took the oath of an executor prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged their bond in the sum of $500.00 with Solomon Redwine and William B. Aston as their securities conditioned as the law directs, a certificate is therefore granted them for obtaining probat of the said will in due form.
