I Samuel Burk of The County of Russell Point Truch? Post Office & State of Virginia do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
1st, That my burial expenses together with allmy lawful debts be fully paid out of my estate.
2nd, That my son Stephen Burk have one dollar of the amount he owes me, this is all my effects I give him in any way whatever, but I do will & bequeath unto all of Stephen Burk's children that have been born in wedlock his lawful share of my estate that would have fell to him. I f I have not made a will & fixed it otherwise, the balance of my estate both real & personal I direct it to be equally divided between my children to wit: Mary Porter, my oldest daughter, James F. Burk, Joseph L. Burk, & J.N. Burk, Lecher Burk, & Nancy my youngest daughter. I want & require my personal estate to be sold & my children to buy it themselves & my two sons Lecher & James Burk my mill property & lands & pay the balance of my heirs their portion in cash & last I constitute & appoint my son Lecher Burk & N.B. Hartsock to be the Executors of this my last will and testamet all business in settling up my estate. Signed, published and declared by me this Sept 10 1889 in the presence of these witnesses.

At a Court held for Russell County on 3rd day of December 1889. The last will and testament of Samuel Burk was produced in Court and offered for probate and continued until the next term and process awarded N.B. Hartsock the Executer named in said will against Elbert S. Isaacs & John S. Jessee to prove the execution of said will.
At a County Court held for Russell County on January 7th 1890. The last will & testament of Samuel Burk deceased was this day again produced in Court and proven by the oaths of Elbert S. Isaacs & John S. Jessee the two subscribing witnesses thereto and thereupon ordered to be recorded, and on the motion of N.B. Hartsock the Executor named in said will who is permitted to qualify as such, entered into and acknowledged a bond in penalty of $100.00 together with J.W. Hartsock as his securities thereto conditioned according to law. A certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration on the estate of Samuel Burk Deceased in due form.
