In the name of God Amen. I Robert Vicars of the County of Russell and State of Virginia being sick and weak in body, but of sound and disposing memory for which I thank God, and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life, and being desirous to dispose of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath the same in manner following that is to say, I desire that all the perishable part of my estate be immediately sold after my decease such as follows.
I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Milly Vicars, all my stock of horses, hogs, sheep and cattle, also the plantation with all the crops either in the ground or outhouse and household and kitchen furniture and plantation utentials of all this things mention I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Milly Vicars, desireing her natural life or widowhood.
In property I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Vicars five dollars after the death of my wife Milly. I give and bequeath unto my son William Vicars ten dollars in property after the death of my wife Milly. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Burten ten dollars in property after the death of my wife Milly Vicars like manner I give and bequeath to my son James Vicars the land that he now possesses that we bought between us in boath ___ immediately after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my son Jacob Vicars a pease of land being joining said Dorton's land running down the main road to the fork of said road and coming and running with the conditional line to him and his heirs forever for he paid me one hundred dollars in money and the rights to be in amediate after his decease. I give and bequeath unto my sons Thomas Vicars, John Vicars and Paul Vicars, Jacob Vicars likewise my daughter Lidda Brickey, Molly Gilbert, Martha Culbertson and Ellender Barker after the death of my wife Milly all estate real and personal to be equally divided to the above names riten.
I hereby constitute and appoint my friend, John Dorton executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills or teataments by me heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 14th day of February in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and twenty one.

This instrument of writing was exhibited in court as and for the last will and testament of Robert Vicars dec'd & proven by the oaths of Robert Fugate and William Dorton two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded - and John Dorton ex'er named in said will here in court refused to take upon himself the ___ of the execution thereof. And,
At a court held for Russell County the 1st day of May 1821.
On the motion of Zachariah Fugate and John Dorton who made oath, and together with John Jessee, Sam'l Aston and Nicholas Honaker their securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted the said Zachariah Fugate & John Dorton for obtaining letter of administration on the estate of Rob't. Vicars dec'd with his will annexed in due form.
