This is my last will and testament and I bequeath my personal property as followeth to wit after all my just debts is paid and funeral expenses. I bequeath all my property to the benefit of my two youngest children. Elizabeth Elexander and Jane Elexander which consist of one bay mare and one cow, one hog, household & kitchen furniture, corn & meat and roughage, and do appoint Nelson Combs to take the same property in his possession and appropriate the same to the benefit and _____ of the above named children. the said Nelson Combs can have liberty appropriating the property to his own use or dispose of as he pleases provided he will give sufficient bond for the maintainence of the children until they are twenty one years of age. At a Court begun and held for Russell County at the Courthouse thereof on Tuesday the 7th day of January 1879. The last will and testament of Martha Alexander was this day produced in court and proven by the oath of Crocket Musick one of the subscribing witnesses thereto & continued til the next time of this court for the oath of James P. Lockhart the other subscribing witness thereto.
At a Court begun and held for Russell County at the Courthouse thereof on Tuesday the 6th day of January 1880. The last will and testament of Martha Alexander was this day again produced in court and the proof thereof completed by the oath of James P. Lockhart and ordered to be recorded.
