In the name of God Amen. I Margaret Johnson of the County of Russell and State of Virginia, being afflicted and calling to mind, that "it is appointed unto all men once to die," and being of sound mind and disposing memory, do make this my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following, that is to say:
1. I give and bequeath to my loving brother Robert Johnson all my estate real and personal of what nature or kind soever it may be, after the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses.
2. I give to my said brother Johnson, all debts which are now, or may hereafter, be due or owing to me in this county or elsewhere.
3. It is my will thirdly to explain the reason why I give to my said brother Robert Johnson all my estate real and personal and debts which are now, or may hereafter be owing to me in preference to my other brothers and sisters, which is twofold - first, because they have been as I think well provided for, and secondly, because his house has been to me and my father a friendly home, and my said brother Robert Johnson had this trouble of providing for and attending upon us in our afflictions. For these reasons I have not given any to my brothers William, John, Samuel and Joseph, or my sisters Nancy Perry, Jane Fuller and Hannah, except my good wishes for their happiness and welfare.
4thly and lastly. I do hereby constitute and appoint my brother Robert Johnson before named, executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other or former wills by me heretofore made. In testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 27th day of July, in the year of Christ one thousand eight hundred and thirty-one.

At a special session of the Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery continued and held for Russell County at the Courthouse, on Tuesday the 30th day of May 1843.
This instrument of writing was exhibited in Court as and for the last Will and Testament of Margaret Johnson deceased and proven by the oaths of Abel Alderson and Jeremiah Munsey two of the subsribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded: and
At a Circuit Superior Court of Law and Chancery continued and held for Russell County at the Courthouse on Wednesday the 20th day of September 1843.
On the motion of Robert Johnson executor named in this instrument of writing who made oath, and together with Robert Johnson his security, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $150 conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted him for obtaining probat of this writing in due form.
