In the name of God Amen I James Hendricks of Russell County and State of Virginia being weak in body but perfect in my wright mind calling to mind the mortality of my body do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say I bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah the land that I now live on with all the appertainesses therein during the term of thirteen yearse and then to belong to my only son John Rallson if he continues to maintain his mother if she remains my widow but if she should think propper to marry againe he is not bound in this my will for her maintainance and if she any time during the thirteen yearse should see an advantage in selling of the land and apploying the purchase money for another peace to be hisen in lik manner it tis my will that she should do so. In the 2nd place ittis my desir that she make sale of my smith tools and a large grinn stone at the saw mill and other propperty if she should stand in need for my childrains maintainance or schooling and ittis my will that she mak sale of my part of the loot in town thirdly I bequeath to my beloved wife all my personal estate to be h____ if she apployse it to the benifit of her children in there raising or schooling now living but if she should think propper to marry then to be sold and divided equally amongst my 4 daughters that is if they can't agree in the division of it. Forthly ittis my will that my wife dispose of what ___ to her from her fathers estate deseast in the best way she think proper fifthly ittis my desire that none of my affects be administered on nor sold only what I have mentioned I appoint my wife the exeter of this my last will and testament whereunto I have enterchangable set my hand and seal impreasens of

Virginia: At a Court held for Russell County the 5th day of January 1830; This instrument of writing was exhibited in court, as and for the last will and testament of James Hendricks deceased, and proven by the oaths of Sarah Hendricks senr and Susan Powers the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Sarah Hendricks executrix therein named who made oath, and together with Hawkins Fuller and Aaron H. Nash her securities, entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted the said Sarah Hendricks for obtaining probat of the said will in due form
