Scott Denniston

Scott Denniston was born 12 Apr 1794, probably in Wythe Co., VA, the s/o Joseph Denniston & Martha Scott. On 14 Sep 1820 in Wythe Co. he married Hannah Umbarger, the d/o Phillip Umbarger & Leah Smith. After their marriage Scott & Hannah moved first to Indiana, then to Tennessee and then back to Wythe Co., which became Smyth Co. in 1832. Finally abt. 1852 they moved to Russell Co. in the Belfast area where they lived the remainder of their lives. Scott Denniston died 06 Apr 1882 and is buried in the Denniston Cemetery at Belfast. The children of Scott Denniston & Hannah Umbarger were Robert, Rachel S., Sarah Jane, Philip J., Mary Ellen, Regina, James W., Helen Christine, Margaret E. and John Denniston.
