Robert A. Boyd was born in Russell Co., Va. 04 Oct 1844, the son of Jonathan Boyd & Mary Burnett. On 20 Jan 1866 he married Polly Angeline Ball, the daughter of William Ball & Sydney J. Fletcher. Polly was born 27 Dec 1847 in Russell Co. Pictured in the photo, taken about 1895 is Robret and Polly and six of their children, from left to right, Ernest Bradford, Ellis Jefferson, Lucius Jonathan, Melissa Ida, Flora Lee, & Lucy Lee. Robert Boyd died 07 Feb 1914 and Polly 30 Apr 1923. Both are buried in the Ball/Boyd Cemetery near Honaker.
