Preston Jones was born in Patrick Co., VA on 18 Mar 1841, the s/o Wiley Jones & Jane Hurd. Abt. 1842 his family moved to Russell Co., VA. On 19 Sep 1865 in Russell Co., Preston married Helen Christine Denniston Taylor, the d/o Scott Denniston & Hannah Umbarger. Helen was born 04 May 1840 in Smyth Co., VA. Helen had previously been married on 11 Dec 1861 to Fullen H. Taylor, s/o Isaac Taylor & Catherine Bishop. Fullen Taylor had died while serving in the Civil War. Preston Jones died 26 Oct 1924 and Helen on 15 May 1922. Both are buried in the Denniston Cemetery in Belfast. Helen Denniston had one child by Fullen Tayor, James Fullen Taylor b. 28 Mar 1863. Children of Preston Jones and Helen Denniston were Mary Ann, Salina V., Leonard Umbarger, LouDema Williams, William and Frank McDonald Jones.
