Patton Hess was born in Russell County, VA on 04 Apr 1833, the son of Henry Hess and Catherine Ball. On 22 Jan 1852 he married Sarah "Sally" Miller, the daughter of John & Anna C. Miller. Sarah was born in Russell County, VA on 27 Jun 1828. Patton died 29 Sep 1893 and Sarah 22 Dec 1905. Both are buried in the Henry Hess Cemetery on River Mtn. Photo taken about 1890.
