John Patton Wilson was born 24 Oct 1844 in Clarks Valley, Russell Co., Va., the son of Abner Wilson and Jane Ball. On 03 Sep 1863 he married Rebecca Catherine Barrett, the daughter of John Barrett and Cynthia Hurt. Rebecca was born 04 May 1846 and died 21 Jun 1870. John and Rebecca had three children: Electra, Dora and Franklin Pierce. After the death of his first wife, John married Sarah Smith. Their children were: Bert Thomas, Minnie Jane, Auston, Maude, Dale, Arthur Allen, George, Lillie, Charlie Aston, Coralie Belle and Daisy. John Patton Wilson died in February, 1942 at the age of 97 as was buried in the Wyndale Methodist Cemetery in Wyndale, Va.
