John Chrisman Barrett was born 21 Jan 1849 in Russell Co., Va. and died 6 Jan 1923. He married Nancy Taylor, the daughter of Harvey and Margaret Etter Taylor on 5 Feb 1873. Nancy was born 29 Jan 1855 and died 29 Jul 1939. John and Nancy are buried in the family cemetery located on Rt. 640, north of House and Barn Mtn. John and Nancy had thirteen children:
