James H. Barrett

James H. Barrett was born 27 Jun 1836 in Russell County, Virginia, the son of John Barrett and Cynthia A. Hurt. On 07 Jun 1859, he married He married Rebecca Honaker. On 02 May 1861, James enlisted into service in the Confederate Army. On 17 May 1862, he was elected 2nd Lieutenant. He was serving in that capacity when killed in action at the Battle of Sharpsburg on 17 Sep 1862.
