Edward Hicks Fields was born in Russell County, VA on February 18, 1880, the son of Thomas Edward Boyd "Teb" Fields and Virginia Dickenson. In 1899 he married Pearl Nora Combs daughter of Simeon Floyd Combs and Elizabeth Smith. Pearl Nora was born on June 5, 1883 in Russell County VA. The children of E.H. and Pearl Nora Fields were: Jack Carter, Robert Thomas, Edward Hicks Jr., Virginia, Margaret, and Eleanor Carolyn.
