Destimony or Cyndesty Combs was born in Russell County, Virginia on 24 Nov 1827, the daughter of Celia Combs and, according to family legend, William Nash. She married about 1845 to William Crabtree b: 24 Nov 1820, also of Russell County. William and Destimony had 12 children: George M., William Elbert, Noah, Jane, Mary, Celia, Eliza, Cyndesty, Charity, Susie, Sarah and Elihu Crabtree. William died 17 Jul 1899, and Destimony 11 Nov 1916. Both are buried in the William Crabtree Family Cemetery on Harts Creek in Russell County.
