Abednego & Rebecca "Counts" Kiser

Abednego Kiser was born abt 1817 in Russell County, Virginia, the son of Ephraim Kiser & Mary Sutherland. About 1836 he married Rebecca Counts, the daughter of John Counts and Phoebe McReynolds. Rebecca was born abt Jun 1818 in Russell County. In the 1850's they moved to "New Kentuck", near the head of Middle Fork of Pocatalico River in Jackson Co., WV. Abednego Kiser was a central figure in a fued pitting Russell County Skeens, Counts, Kisers and others against other Jackson & Roane County West Virginians.
