Anjer Price of Russell County who claims a Bounty in Lands for his services in the Revolutionary War as a Sergeant of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment appeared before the County Court of the said county of Russell on the 3rd day of September 1811, and deposed as follows - That in the year 1776, he believes on the 27th day of February in that year he enlisted as a Sergeant as aforesaid under Captain Richard Campbell of Colo. Muhlenburg's regiment in which he served some time and was then transferred to the 4th Virginia Regiment commanded by Colo. John Green, - He was then ordered to the South Department, and in Augusta in the State of Georgia he was discharged by Colo. Richard Parker Commandant of the New Levies from Virginia, he believes in the year 1780; - (but the certificate of his discharge he has since lost) having served four years & some months in which time he was engaged with the army in several important battles, & was once wounded.
& this affiant further maketh oath, that he has never before proved or claimed his right to Land for the service herein mentioned.

James McKinney of the said county also appeared in court & made oath as follows - That he was a draft from Virginia he believes in the year 1778 and recollects perfectly to have seen Anjer Price the person mentioned in the foregoing affidavit in the 4th Virginia Regiment & to which Regiment he believes the said Anjer Price then belonged, they being encamped near Middlebrook.

Michael Sword of said county also appeared in court & made oath that he was well acquainted with the above mentioned Anjer Price while he was encamped near Middlebrook - and knows he served in the 4th Virginia Regiment as a Sergeant.
