Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to all to whom the presents shall come, greetings: Know ye, that by virtue and in cosideration of a Land Office Treasury Warrant there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto the said John Thompson assignee of John Kincaid a certain tract or parcel of land containing twenty nine acres by survey bearing date the twentieth day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty three lying & being in the County of Washington on the branch of Weaver Creek the waters of Clinch River and is bounded as followeth to wit, Beginning at a maple and gum by the branch and running thence north fifty five degrees west sixty three poles to two white oaks near a large Lick, north forty six degrees east twenty poles to a large white oak, south fifty three degrees east ninety three poles along the side of a hill to two white oaks in a bottom, south sixty one degrees west one hundred and ninety eight poles crossing a branch thence to a gum beach & service berry sapling on the bank of the same, north ten degrees east sixteen poles to a white oak & dogwood on the side of a hill, north fifty eight degrees east one hundred and fifty nine poles along said hill to the Beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said John Thompson and his heirs forever. In witness whereof the said Patrick Henry Esquire Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, hath hereunto set his hand, and caused the lesser seal of the said Commonwealth to be affixed at Richmond, on the twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty five and of the Commonwealth the ninth.
