George E. McFarlane, born 1909 on the McFarlane Farm, near Rosedale, VA,
in a farmhouse built by Major John Alexander McFarlane,upon return from
the Civil War, with help of sons. Dad and I found this url while
searching for information on the Russell County McFarlane Family
Cemetary. Ramon Rumley, s/o Margaret Higganbotham Rumley McFarlane, w/o
A.P. McFarlane, had told dad about the cemetary being on an internet
page. This discussion came about as a result of a call from George
Burdette, s/o Robert & Gretta McFarlane Burdette, informing the Bristol,
VA, McFarlanes of the death of Robert Burdette, husband of Gretta Jean
McFarlane, d/o George Edgar McFarlane and Nettie Martin McFarlane.
Gretta is a half sister (common father) to Edgar D. McFarlane.
