Comments: My grandfather was born in Honaker in 1898 and my
father in Richlands in 1923. i was born in Richlands in 1948 and our
family moved to Orlando in 1954. I have been interested in locating
information on my family tree for some time and as a flook; and to my
surprise, tried the web. My grt. grand father was born in the Honaker
area as well and his name was Ramzy Thompson. I looked up the Russell
County census a few years ago for 1880 and found him listed as a child
along with his sister Emily who I knew about. I learned from that that
my grt.grt. grand father was Jacob thompson. On your web sight today I
learned that my Grt. grt. grand father was listed as a member of the 72nd
Virginia in 1863. Thanks very much! Now I want to find out where he was
born and who his father was etc.
