Comments: I have been looking for a church my cousin has a
picture of in (Russell County) with a sign there talking about the early
settlers starting with Isaiah Salyer & the other Virginia families they
intermarried with, including Castle's. I am told I have family buried
there... Any help would be appreciated in finding this & I can e-mail you
a picture if you like. She thinks the church is called "Grassy Creek
Methodist or Baptist church outside of Nickelsville, Va. The sign starts

Comments: I am looking for any information on Betty Bays.
She was the first wife of Charles William Dye (before Pearl Mae), she was
born in 1884, married in 1900 and died in 1909. Her father was Frank
Rebdon Bays and they were full blooded Cherokee Indians. They came to
Russell County from out west looking for work. They had four children
before her death...Virginia Martha, Ruth Elizabeth, Dewey and Visie Dye.
She was my grandmother!
