This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of October in the year of Christ, One thousand eight hundred and twenty. Between John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizar, George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, Wm. Burk and Rebeccah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee, all of the County of Russell and State of Virginia of the one part, and Archer Jessee of the said County and State. Witnesseth, that whereas John Jessee Sen'r deceased, late of the said County of Russell, departed this life intestate, having a right to certain lands a part of which he had sould to the above named William Jessee and deceased before he made the right to s'd William Jessee who has sold the same parcel of land to Archibald Jessee for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid by the s'd Archibald Jessee, the right of which yet remains in us, John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizer, George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, William Burk and Rebekah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee, the co-heirs of the said John Jessee Sen'r deceased, to whom the title of the said land descended, and whereas we the aforesaid co-heirs and copartners John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizer wife of Abednigo Kizer dec'd,. George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, William Burk and Rebeckah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee for and in consideration of the money which which was paid to the said John Jessee sent in his life-time by the said William Jessee and the title not being yet made and that circumstance being well known and acknowledged by us the said John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizar, George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, William Burk and Rebekah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee, each of us do convey to the said Archibald Jessee his heirs and assigns our parts or portions of the land by the said John Jessee sold to William Jessee, and from him to said A. Jessee containg fifty acres lying in the said County of Russell on both sides of Carrs Creek and bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a black walnut and dogwood on a hill side, South 37 W. 88 poles to a Spanish oak and two small sugartrees on a hill side S. 15 E. 76 poles crossing said Creek to a walnut and hornbeam N. 89 E. 66 poles crossing said Creek to a white oak and sugartree on the top of a ridge N. 8 W. 156 poles to a rock between a chestnut oak and red bud S. 51 W. 16 poles to the beginning.

Together with all appurtenances privileges and advantages to the same belonging, To have and to hold the said tract of land and appurtenances unto the said Archibald Jessee his heirs and assigns forever, and we the said John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizar, George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, William Burk and Rebekah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee doth for ourselves our heirs hereby covenant and grant to and with the said Archibald Jessee his heirs and assigns their respective parts or portions of the aforesaid tract of land as coheirs of the said John Jessee, ded'd free from the claim or claims of them the said John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, David Jessee, Polly Kizar, George Gose and Elizabeth his wife, William Stone and Frances his wife, Stephen Gose and Dicy his wife, Wilson Vermillion and Sarah his wife, James Jessee, William Burk and Rebekah his wife, Henry Fuller and Jane his wife, George Jessee and Martin Jessee or either of us our heirs and either of them or every person or persons whomsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by those presents. Russell County to wit:
We James Browning and John Colley justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do hereby certify that John Jessee, William Jessee, Lea Jessee, Polly Kizer, David Jessee, George Gose, William Stone, Stephen Gose, Wilson Vermillion, James Jessee, William Burk, Henry Fuller, George L. Jessee & Martin Jessee, parties to the within deed bareing date the twenty eighth day of October One thousand eight hundred and twenty and hereunto annexed, personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid, and acknowledged the same to be there act and deed and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the County Court of Russell in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under our hands and seals this 28 th day of October 1820.

We James Browning and John Colley, Justices of the peace in the County aforesaid in the State of Virginia do hereby certify that Elizabeth Gose the wife of George Gose, Frances Stone the wife of William Stone, Dicy Gose the wife of Stephen Gose, Sary Vermillion the wife of Wilson Vermillion, Rebecah Burk the wife of William Burk, and Jane Fuller the wife of Henry Fuller parties to the within deed bareing date on the twenty eighth day of October One thousand eight hundred and twenty and hereunto annexed, personally appeared before us in our County aforesaid and being examined by us privately and apart from their husbands and having the deed aforesaid fully explained to them the said Elizabeth Gose, Frances Stone, Dicy Gose, Sary Vermillion, Rebekah Burk and Jane Fuller acknowledged the same to be their acts and deed, and declared that they had willingly signed sealed and delivered the same and that they wished not to retract it. Given under our hands and seals, the 28th day of October 1820.

This Indenture of bargain and sale from John Jessee & others to Archer Jessee certified to have been duly acknowledged before James Browning and John Colley two justices of the peace for Russell County was produced in the Clerks office of said County on the 1st day of May 1821 and admitted to record.
