This Indenture made the tenth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirteen ~ between John Hamon senr. of Russell County and Commonwealth of Virginia and Mary his wife of the one part, and John Hamon jr. of the same county of the other part Witnesseth, That the said John Hamon senior and Mary his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and five dollars to him in hand paid, the receipt they do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained & sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John Hamon junr. a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said county of Russell on both sides of the left hand fork of Dumps Creek containing thirty acres be the same more or less, and bounded as follows; beginning at a buckeye and sugartree neare the lower forde of the left hand fork of Dumps Creek running up said branch on the west side on a conditional line to the mouth of the middle fork thence up sd. branch to the old patten [sic] line thence along said line about 7 degrees West to two white oaks in a hollow at the foot of a ridge S. 45 poles crossing a branch to a hickory and plumb on the bank of the same N. 62 E. 110 poles crossing bent [sic] of sd branch to the beginning, with its appurtanence to have & to hold the said tract or parcel of land to the said John Hamon junr. his heirs & assigns forever. And the said John Hamon senr. doth warrant and forever defend the said land from the claims of all persons whatever. In witness whereof the said John Hamon senr. and Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
