This Indenture made this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between George Colley of Russell county and Commonwealth of Virginia and Magrit his wife of the one part and Jacob Blare of the same county of the other part witnesseth for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds lawful money of this commonwealth to said George Colley in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Jacob Blare a certain tract or parcel of land containing thirty acres be this same more or less lying and being in the county of Russell on the waters of Clinch River on the Eagel [sic] Nest branch Beginning on a beech and gum on the side of a Ridge 69 degrees, W65 poles to a white oak and dogwood at the foot of ? ridge N 78 degrees W 41 poles to a white oak and dogwood on a gravelly ridge N 9 degrees W 105 to a dogwood and white oak on the top of a clift S 48 degrees E 18 [or 118] poles to the Beginning with its apperturnances to have and to hold to the said Jacob Blare his heirs and assigns forever and the said George Colley for himself and his heirs the said tract on parcel of land with all and singular of its apperturnances the said Jacob Blare his heirs and assigns against or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever and will forever warrant and defend in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed our seals the day and year first above written.
