This deed made April 13, 1915 by & between E.W. Barrett and Ella M. Barrett of Russell Co. Va. Parties of the first part and J.N. Graham of Russell party of second part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of $800.00 paid in hand receipt of which hereby acknowledged, party of the first part doth bargain sell and convey with general warranty to party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land situated in New Garded district Russell Va. lying on Clinch River near the mouth of maided spring fork and bounded as follows. Beginning at Elm tree on north bank of Clinch River corner of dowery tract of Margaret A. Barrett, there with a line same N100 E 1300 ft passing a corner land of Mollie A. Howard 1050 ft to stake on top of a large ridge corner to James H. Barrett N.76W 770 ft to a black oak on the north bank of Clinch River thus leaving the line of James H. Barrett & line of H.D. Meades up the center of the river as it meanders S700E 280 ft S16 30E 428 ft S 2100E 215 ft S3500E 447ft S 42 30E 275 ft E 50 ft to the beginning corner containing fifteen & one half acres by survey this being the 7th interest of E.W. Barrett
in the real estate of the late Robert M. Barrett, to have & to hold together with all of its appurtenances except the right and privledges of James F. Taylor, James H. Barrett, Edgar R. Barrett, to have a convenient passway from their adjoining tracts to the public road, and for the consideration of the right og way to the said J.N Graham through dower to public road also the graveyard as it is now fenced said party of the first part warrents generally the title of said property against all persons whomsoever witness our hands and seals this date first written above party of first does sell and convey to J.N Graham on seventh entrust in the mistress Margaret A. Barrett Dowery tract being the lands of the deceased Robert M. Barrett paid in hand $250.00 paid in hand the receipt of which is here acknowledged and does warrent a general title against all persons whomsoever witness our hand and seal this day April 13, 1915.
