E. W. & Ella M. Barrett to Ben F. Barrett

This deed made this the 14th day of april, 1928, by and between E. W. Barrett and E. M Barrett, his wife, parties of the first part, and B. F. Barrett party of the second part, witnesseth, that for and the consideration of the sum of $2500.00/ paid and to be paid as follows, to wit: $1200.00 down and the remainder to be paid $650.00 with interest from date in 12 months from this date, and $650.00 with interest from date to be paid in 24 months from this date, with the right for the party of the second part to pay any amount or amounts on the said notes before maturity if he so desires counting interest to date of payment, for which a vendors lien is expressly retained on the herein after lands until the full purchase price is paid, for which the parties of the first part doth grant, sell and convey to the party of the second part with covenants general warranty free from all encumbrances except as set out in deeds of conveyances to the parties of the first part from their grantors, all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in New Garden District of Russell County Virginia, on Clinch River above Blackford, Va. and bounded by the lands of of Aught McCloud, W.T. Nipper and wife, Harmon lands known as the Grover Harmon Land, M.T. Browning and Wife, and B.J Fuller, land, formerly known Gertrude Davis land, and containing 29 9/10 acres more or less and being all the lands set outin the Four deeds of conveyance recorded in deed book number 52 page 415 in the clerks office of Russell County, Virginia, and deed dated on the 26th day of May, 1917 from Mollie Howard and W.J Howard to E.w. Barrett, and recorded in deed book number 56 page 528, in the clerks office of Russell Co. virginia, and deed dated the 10th day of April, 1917, from Margaret A. Barrett to Elbert W. Barrett & Ella M Barrett, and recorded in deed bood number 56 pages 520-9, in the clerks office of Russell Co, Virginia, and deed dated March 31st, 1923, recorded in deed book number68, page 127, in the clerks office of Russell County Virginia, and the four deeds referred to is hereby made a part of this deed and to be read and treated as such to fully locate, convey and alien to the party of the second part all the lands therein embraced so as to fully convey same to him free from al encumbrances except the rights reserved from thid conveyance. Given under our hands and seals this the 14th day of April, 1928.

I, G. B. Johnson, a notary public for the county aforesaid in the state of Virginia, do hereby certify that E.W. Barrett and Ella M. Barrett, his wife, whose names are signed to the above deed bearing date on the 14th day of April, 1928, have acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid in the State of Virginia. My comission expires on the 15th day of Feb. 1931.
