Present: Alexander Barnett, Andrew Cowan, Samuel Ritchie, Thomas Carter, Gentlemen. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. Witnesses appearing against Robert Kilgore. To be tried in Richmond on October 1st next and remanded to jail.

P5 - Henly Fuget and George Oxer, 100 pounds, recognizance to appear on behalf of Commonwealth against Robert Kilgore in Richmond.

P6 - At William Robenson's June 2, 1786 for the examination of Philip Shelley on suspicion of feloniously concealing a bay mare worth 10 pounds. Present: Alexander Barnett, Andrew Cowan, Samuel Ritchie, Thomas Carter, Gentlemen. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. Witnesses appearing against him. Left to his choice as to whether he would go to trial or abide by the punishment inflicted, he chose to abide by the judgement of the Court

P6 - Philip Shelley stands charged for feloniously receiving the meat of 4 hogs worth 10 pounds. Prisoner pleaded not guilty. Ordered that he be bound to the Grand Jury on both charges.

P7 - Court June 13, 1786. Present: Alexander Barnett, Henry Smith, Andrew Cowan, Samuel Ritchie, Thomas Carter, John Thompson, Gentlemen.

P7 - Edmund Smith obtained a certificate for a preemption of 1000 ac in Powels Valley between the head of Cane Creek and Shugar Run on the main road, sent certificate to the Registrar's Office by Cliff Overton. Appears that Overton after obtaining the warrant was killed by the Indians and that he never received the warrant.

P10 - Court at William Robenson's Aug 3, 1786, examination of Jonathan Oozley Ireland on suspicion of feloniously stealing a gray mare property of Robert Maysey, valued at 20 pounds.

P20 - William Smith be overseer of the main road from the forks of the road near the widow Coils to the tree by spring and that Andrew Cowen give him a list of tithables.

P20 - Ordered that Charles Bickley, John Smith, Samuel Alley & James Wharton to biew a road from the two big springs to the county road near the ford of Clinch River.

P21 - Appoint a place to build the Courthouse, 2 of the gentlement voted for the Courthouse to be on David Calhoun's land on the head of Copper Creek and the other 2 were divided & both against that place.

P21 - Court held at William Robenson's on September 12, l786 for examination of Tob. Ingram on suspicion of his feloniously stealing a stray cow. Present: Alexander Barnett, Henry Smith, Andrew Cowen & Thomas Carter.

P21 - Tob Ingram gave recognizance with George Roberts as security. Both did not appear and court ordered that recognizance bond be forfeited.

James Maddison enters 800 acres of land by virtue of a land office treasury warrant #21576, dated September 23, 1783, being on the west side of a tract of land belonging to David Calhoun on which the Courthouse was appointed to be built on both sides of the road leading up to the head of Copper Creek joining Calhoun's to include a spring near said road.
