Robert Dickenson this day personally appeared in court and being duly sworn deposeth and saith that the said George Grizzle was at Norfolk in the sevice of the United States as a militia man from the county of Russell in the year 1814, that he was a part of the detachment in which this deponent served as a subaltern, under the command of Lieut. Col. Henry E. Coleman of the 6th Regiment, and that the said George Grizzle died of sickness a few days after his dischage from the said service as a private soldier at Norfolk aforesaid about the 11th day of December 1814 being sick at the time of the discharge & unable as this deponent believes to return home.
The said John Grizzle a respectable person appeared in court and being duly sworn deposeth and saith that the said George Grizzle at the time of his death had five children who now reside in this county, that is to say, Sarah aged about 12 years, Sinah aged about 10 years, William aged about 9 years, Lucy aged about 7 years and John aged about 4 years.
