Dorothy Lee, relict of William Lee
deceased, came into Court and made oath that said William Lee departed this life
without making a Will so far as she knows or believes and on her petition and
giving security for her just and faithful administration of the said decedent's
estate, certificate is granted her for obtaining letters of administration in
due form.

Dorothy Lee and Thomas Taylor in open Court acknowledge themselves indebted
to the Worshipful, his Majesty's Justices of the said County, in the sum of one
hundred pounds sterling, to be paid to the said Justices, their Executors or
Administrators, in case the said Dorothy Lee does not duly administer on all and
singlar, the Estate of William Lee dec'd, and render a true account thereof when
thereunto lawfully called Robert Tomlin, David Verrick, Stanley Gower and
Charles Lee or any three of them sometime between this and the next Court are
appointed to appraise all and singular the Estate of William Lee, deceased, in
money, which shall be presented to their view and make report thereof to the
said next Court. Charles Barber, Gent. or any other Justice of the Peace, for
the County, is requred to administer on oath to the appraisers for their true
appraisement of the said dec'd estate, as also to Dorothy Lee, the administator
for her true discovery thereof.

The appraisement of the estate of William Lee, dec'd being this day
released, it is ordered that the same be recorded.

mentioned in the middle paragraph above was born by 1696 since he would have to
have been at least 21 years old to be appointed. It is unlikely that he is
related to this family but -- he could be.

In the name of God Amen, I,
Elizabeth Taylor, of North Farnham Parish, being of sound mind and memory,
thanks be to God for it, I do nominate and appoint this my Last Will and
Testament in manner and form following I give my soul to God who gave it and my
body to be buried as my Executor hereafter named shall think fit.
ITEM It
is my wish and desire that all my wearing apparel be equally divided between my
two daughters, Dorothy Croucher and Sary Ellate, and my daughter Dorothy to have
her choice.
ITEM I give to my great granddaughter Betty Lee, daughter, to
my grandson Tom Lee, one cow and calf, bed, rug, blanket, and three pairs of
sheets, my Prayer Book, one hound, one yew, one lamb, pewter bason, my grate
trunk, long iron pot, frying pan, my metal salt seller and looking glass.
ITEM I give to my great grandaughter Ann Lee, daughter of my son William
Lee, cow and calf, yew and lamb, pewter bason and my small bag.
ITEM To
my great grandaughter Lucy Lee, daughter of Dorothy, one cow and calf, one yew
and lamb, and my small pewter bason, and my little trunk.
ITEM To my
great grandson Richard Lee, son of Dorothy . . .
ITEM I give to my
grandson William Lee all the rest of my Estate I have not named, and appoint my
grandson William Lee my whole and sole Ex. of my Last Will and Testament.
In witness hereunto set my hand and fix my seal this 11th day of May, 1747.

Will of Nicholas McGinnis
given on his deathbed.
Richmond County Ebenezer Balderson, Zachariah
White, and Silicia White this day appeared before me, John Belfield one of his
Majesty’s Justices of the peace for the aforesaid County made Oath that Nicholas
McGinnis who died yesterday did in his last sickness in his own house give to
his son Rich. McGinnis all his working Tools & the Timber in his Shop and that
the aforesaid Nich. McGinnis did bid the aforesaid persons bear witness that the
same was his Will Certified under my hand this 29 day of March, 1769. John

At a Court held for Richmond County the 5th day of June, 1769
this Will of Nich. McGinnis was presented in Court by his son Rich. McGinnis and
on the motion of the aforesaid Rich. was admitted to record. Teste, LeRoy
Peachey
On the 5th day of June, 1769, the Estate of Nicholas McGinnis was
given to the view of John Belfield by Jane McGinnis for the purpose of
inventory. That inventory is recorded in: Richmond County Courthouse,
Virginia Will Book 7 (1767 – 1787) Pages 38 and 39.
