An Anglican prayer book, title page and first signature missing,
passed down to Adela Beale YERBY Lefevre, thence to her son Arthur
LEFEVRE Jr., to his daughter Ortrud Virginia LEFEVRE Much, and to her
daughter Kathleen MUCH, contains a handwritten "table of kindred and
affinity". All capitalization and spelling are as in the original. A
photocopy is on file at the Library of Virginia.

verso: "Thaddeus McCarty his hand note the first day of August 1783"
[one of the children of Daniel McCARTY (b. 1679 Richmond Co, d. 1724
Westmoreland Co) and Elizabeth POPE (b. 16 Jun 1667) was named
Thaddeus (~1712-1731), as were two of their grandsons, both born 1739,
and a great-grandson--from Clara S. McCarty, "McCartys of Virginia
with Emphasis on the First Four Generations in the Colony" and
research of Dr. Wm. M. McCarty in Richmond County records]

Martha HALL CORBIN, the "Wife Martha" of the prayer book, was the
daughter of Dr. Richard Lingan HALL (d. 1774) and his wife/common-law
wife Hannah Ludwell LEE Corbin (1729-1782). She was baptized as Martha
Corbin, daughter of Hannah Corbin, widow, and later acknowledged as
the daughter of Dr. HALL. Hannah LEE had previously been married to
Gawin CORBIN (~1724-1759) of "Peckatone", Westmoreland Co, VA.

Thaddeus MCCARTY, first owner of the prayer book to be named in its
pages, was probably either the uncle (d. 1787) or the brother (b.
1763) of Col. William Thaddeus MCCARTY.

Judith G. YERBY, second wife of Col. W.T. MCCARTY of Richmond Co, VA,
was the daughter of George Woodbridge YERBY (d. 1790x1793, Richmond
Co, VA) and his first wife. George's second wife, Elizabeth Rust
GARLAND, was mother of William Garland YERBY and Mary Rust YERBY.
Judith G. YERBY McCarty's granddaughter, Olivia Beale MCCARTY, married
Judith's half-brother William Garland YERBY's son Albert Festus YERBY.
They were half-cousins once removed.
